“March of the Laohu” is an epic piece featuring driving, dynamic percussion, orchestral horns, synthesizers and strings. The March of the Laohu translated is the “March of the Chinese tiger.”
FEATURED INSTRUMENTAL CUES
“Nora’s Fantasy” is trailer-style hybrid orchestral instrumental. Fantasy elements in the production create a feeling of wonderment and adventure. The first section slowly builds to a crescendo, transitioning to moving strings, dynamic horns and aggressive percussion, that propel the cue forward to a dramatic conclusion.
“Tara’s Magic Clock” is a hybrid orchestra, synthesizer, percussion piece that utilizes layering and forward movement to create a dynamic underscore or trailer music bed. The clock and chimes used in the production add a fantasy element to the score that continues through to the ending.
“Last Battle of the Shogun” is a hybrid orchestra, synthesizer, percussion piece. It is the march of an army, a battle theme, and an epic showpiece with strong percussion and dramatic swells.
“Huayun Singing” is a blending of traditional Chinese instruments with modern instruments and synthesizers intended for underscores needing a beat along with traditional Asian sounding elements.
VOCAL TRACKS
“If We Believe” is a duet performed by Christian Engelhardt and Susana Wickstrom, students at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama. It is intended to be part of a new scene that is in the process being added to the Guilin, A China Story script, performed by the characters Yo Ping and Mei Li Goodson.
